Through images of shadows, I explore the theme of fragility and the impermanence of the physical and the material. Shadows lay claim to objectivity by being a reflection of the material world, yet they appear as mutable, fleeting images. In this, I find a reflection of the human psyche: how our shadow is a source of complexes, fear, and anger. It is the vulnerability to the judgment of others—how our shadow differs from our ideal self. Yet, without accepting this shadow, we cannot be whole. My works capture the shadow as a hint of presence, a trace left by a body that is no longer there. This is a visual reflection on what it means to be vulnerable, imperfect, but authentic in the face of inevitable disappearance.
